Free and confidential rapid testing is available at all our locations. Our medical and behavioral staff are trained in the management and complexities of the overall care of people with HIV.
HIV Medical Care
Medical care can seem overwhelming for a number of reasons. Our experienced team of MCMs will assist you in making appointments and help keep track of all labs and referrals. We work with a group of local providers to provide you with the best care possible.
Oral Health Care
Often overlooked, oral health care contributes significantly to our overall health. Our MCMs will work with you to refer you to dental services to suit all of your oral health needs.
Emergency Financial Assistance
Our MCMs will help you identify if you are eligible to receive financial assistance for a variety of needs, including medical costs, rent, heat, and other utility expenses. Verification of income and expenses is necessary.
Transportation
Getting to and from appointments will never be an issue when you’re receiving services from Apex. Your MCM will be able to connect you with the most appropriate method of transportation for your needs.
Housing
Stable housing is critical to the overall health and well-being of an individual. Apex maintains a 5 bed, sober group residence as well as a housing subsidy program. Our Housing Coordinator, Ramona, works with our clients to ensure that stigma never gets in the way.
CADAP & CIPA Enrollment
Your MCM can assist with filling out and submitting paperwork for both the Connecticut AIDS Drug Assistance Program (CADAP) and Connecticut Insurance Premium Act (CIPA). Through enrolling in CADAP, you will have guaranteed access to all your medications. Additionally, when you enroll in CIPA, you will have assistance paying for your insurance premiums (up to $1,800 monthly). All information obtained for these programs is completely confidential.
